Text Code Under the Bottle Cap to 2653 (COKE)

I put a dollar in a machine and then opened up my 20 oz. bottle of Coke. The label told me of their rewards program and told me to go online or text the code under the bottle cap. Cool! So I looked under the cap, and saw three rows of 5 characters (mixed letters and numbers). Uh no, I have to turn T9 predictive text off.

I thought to myself, what do they want me to text, so I texted the first row (Lkx4M). I received response of "Sorry, the format of your message was incorrect. - The Coca-Cola Company."

So I then texted (Bnhjtl4rlklkx4m). I recieved response of "MyCokeRewards: Visit mycokerewards.com to register and link your mobile phone within 72 hours and you will receive 3 points for your code." I just couldn't wait.

So I went to the website and registered. I was told to text 'Link f7pxd3vh'. So I texted 'Link f7pxd3vh' and I received a text message response of "Thank you for registering your mobile phone with a web site of the The Coca-Cola Company.

Awesome, Fantastic, and oh ya, my eyes and fingers are tired after reading the code under the cap and doing all that texting and web input. But I have my 3 points. What do I get? Well, after 7 more points, I will get a free 2-liter. Although I am bit scared on how difficult it will be to get it.
Do you think I will get a mobile coupon to bring to the store? You do? You want to buy the Brooklyn Bridge from me - 500 coke points.

HEIST is gone

Thanks to OTAir LLC (68247) for researching this short code and finding out that it was for this time a year ago and is no longer valid. It has been removed.

WWE - Is it real or fake? Find out at 46993 (GOWWE)

"Professional" wrestling is getting into the act. (get it, into the act?) Anyways, they have announced a premium alert service.

From the press release: "For $3.99 per month, WWE fans will be able to stay connected by having alerts delivered directly to their mobile phones through what is called SMS (Short Messaging Service). As part of this package, subscribers are provided exclusive WWE content each week, including breaking news about WWE Superstars, "Monday Night Raw(R)" and "Friday Night SmackDown(R)" previews and results, and special Superstar columns, as well as news about special events, such as the upcoming "Saturday Night's Main Event(TM)" on NBC this Saturday, March 18. Fans also will be able to participate in exclusive polls by text messaging their answers and opinions."

"WWE fans can subscribe to the new service from their current wireless provider by texting "Fan" to 46993 (GOWWE)."

Does anyone know what the short code for Nascar is?

Another Mobile Marketing Entrant - Movo Mobile

I know that most people reading this are in the business. So welcome to another competitor. Check'em out at http://www.movomobile.com/. They have two short codes: 58163 for their real estate application and 77812 for the Ad Agency application.

Let me know what you think, if you care to say?

The HEIST (49478)

They say that the TV show, The Heist, is like "Ocean's 11" meets "Survivor!" So, I guess it's not like "Ocean's 12" meets "Fear Factor." Or is it? If you watch it let me know.

So what's the connection to US short codes? From Promo Magazine: "Court TV is jumping into the wireless arena with a text-and-win contest tied into the launch of a new reality show Impossible Heists, offering viewers a chance to win $10,000. The contest, the Impossible Heists Code Cracking Challenge, lets players test their chances at being a true code-cracker by answering three trivia questions. Consumers who answer the questions correctly can enter a code for the chance to win the grand prize of $10,000. Consumers can sign up by texting the word WIN (946) to HEIST (49478) or registering online at Courttv.com. "

I tried to send WIN and got no response. I also did not see how you register online at the website. I suppose the contest has not started yet, or there are technical difficulties. Maybe someone stole the software.

ipsh! (65579)

This is a shared short code that ipsh! uses for different campaigns. Here are two that I know of:

Be Alive! like on the Discovery Channel:
http://webwire.com/ViewPressRel.asp?SESSIONID=&aId=10639

When four blades aren't enough, use Gillette fusion (actually I made that up, it's not the tag line):

Alerts available now, Ringtones coming soon

Someone submitted 33100 to me so I am adding it. There was no response to 'help' message sent to 33100 but the alerts part of the website appears to be up and running. I figured out that this site is an affiliate of an Aussie company - Mobile Applications. In USA, it is gozomo.com. Does that mean anything in Aborigine?

Another Chat (28255)

It just keeps coming. I have uncovered quite a few more chat services, but decided to only add one right now. I'll add the others another day. This one is 28255.

More than I expected this week

I was beginning to feel that it was going to be harder to find more short codes. I was wrong. I have been finding more and more, but not finding the time to update the site and this blog. My goal is to do this weekly and get it done by Friday. I suppose if that is COB Friday, I am still on time.

Horoscopes and Jokes (44344)

More horoscopes and jokes at 44344. Enough said.

More Ringtones, Games, and Wallpaper (54545)

Read my post about 68000. This is about 54545. Same type of service, different company. I don't feel like repeating it, actually, I can't remember it.

Gawker Media (GAWK=68076)

Interested in celebrity gossip from NYC or Hollywood. Willing to pay $4.99 a month for the privilege. If yes, then you should send 'GAWK' or 'DEF', or send two messages. Uh oh, that's $9.98 a month. You must really like gossip!

Cingular and MYSPC (69772)

I read about this at Rusell Beattie's blog. I don't use Myspace and didn't feel like it, so I didn't independently check it out. Here is his post: http://www.russellbeattie.com/notebook/1008841.html
I have nothing to add.

GQ Goes Mobile (47624=GQMAG)

According to Business Week, GQ Magazine is getting into text messaging. "The service, BusinessWeek Online has learned, will be operated in conjunction with m-Qube, a Watertown (Mass.)-based company that has created an infrastructure for distributing music and other media to cell phones" "We think it's going to be such a powerful medium," says GQ marketing director Scott Carliss"

So, are you thinking editorial content. Actually, Business Week reports that "Once enrolled, GQ Mobile users will start to receive original content developed for the digital mobile service. It may include information about events, private sales, shopping nights, and giveaways. The service will differ from the mobile magazines, or mobizines, that Condé Nast and others are rolling out in Britain, which are focused more on snippets of editorial content and pictures. "This is a business opportunity. It isn't about editorial," Carliss says."

I would call this "co-branded mobile marketing."

More and More Chat

Here are more chat services added to the list this past week.

47807
66000
70788
90459
22428

I simply don't know what to write about these.
